This site was put together by a few web developers interested in online book publishing. If you’re a book author you know you’re not going to get rich through royalty-based publishing -unless of course you can get on Oprah.
Getting a physical book published is more for establishing your name as an authority and making your parents proud. If you’ve never published a book before, you may not know how the process usually works. A publisher may give you a nice big advancement for a book, but after all the expenses and fees charged to you by the publisher you may net only one dollar or even less from a $20 book.
Publishing a book using traditional channels is more of career advancement than anything else. You become the authority on the topic you wrote about, which means you can charge more for consulting time and speaking engagements, perhaps make an appearance on CNBC as an expert.
Selling books online and self-publishing have become profitable for some authors for going traditional publishing paths. We created this site to understand the challenges in the sales process for independent authors. We have been approached by a few of our web design clients who are book authors and want to promote their books online. Their products are on this website. Those products have defined the theme of this website, which are books related to higher consciousness and personal growth. As our theme expands into other areas the plan is to spawn new niche book websites.
